25 Free Christmas Colouring Pages Starring a Very Festive Cookie

There's a moment on Christmas morning, right after the wrapping paper settles and right before lunch, when every child in the house needs something to do and every adult needs a cup of tea. This year we made twenty-five somethings.

Our free Christmas colouring pages star Biscuit the cookie and the whole snack gang. There are five for boys, five for girls, five for little ones and ten for everyone, and you should absolutely ignore those labels if the Gingerbread Dino is calling your daughter's name.

For the speed demons: five pages for boys

Burger Backpack becomes a rocket sleigh. Banana Phone gets a gingerbread monster truck. Toasty builds a bauble-headed robot that gives everything two thumbs up. It's loud, it's silly, and nobody has to stay inside the lines at 40 kilometres an hour.

For the sugar plum set: five pages for girls

Swirly the soft-serve finally gets her ballet moment, Dot goes skating on a frozen pond of hot chocolate, and Biscuit moves into a gingerbread castle with a tiny crown and absolutely no plan for the rain.

For very small artists: five pages for little ones

These five are for toddlers and preschoolers who hold a crayon like a sword. One big character, big shapes and extra thick lines, so there's plenty of room to go a bit wild. Biscuit gets a Santa hat, Toasty sits on a giant present, and Burger pops out of a stocking.

For everyone else: ten pages for the whole table

This is where the Australian Christmas lives. Biscuit surfs in a Santa hat, Burger Backpack bats in sunnies with the esky as the wicket, and a pavlova the size of a small hill needs climbing. There's also a blank bauble page for designers who refuse to take direction.

How to run a colouring table that survives until lunch

  • Print on plain copy paper for crayons and pencils. Use thicker paper if felt-tips are involved, or put a spare sheet underneath to save the tablecloth.
  • Set your printer to "fit to page". Pick A4 or US Letter to suit your paper, and print one test sheet before the whole pack.
  • Colours in the middle, kids around the outside. One shared tub beats four arguments about the green.
  • Make a tiny gallery. Peg finished pages along a piece of string. Suddenly it's an exhibition and everyone wants another turn.
  • Turn pages into wrapping. A coloured page makes a lovely gift tag, card or flat present wrap. Finish it with one of our printable gift tags.
  • Save one for later. Keep two pages back for the 4pm slump. You'll thank yourself.

If you're filling a whole weekend, our cosy crafty Christmas plan has plenty more, and the free printables page has papercrafts to fold when the crayons run out.

Things that make colouring better

You don't need any of these to enjoy the pages, promise. But if you're stocking a stocking, they're a very good place to start. There's more in our stocking fillers and pencil cases, and the full Christmas shelf is open too.
